Holiday Cottage
Just dropped off with Welly some doggie treats for a local holiday let called Balkcote Cottage, its a lovely barn conversion set in the village. They get lots of doggie guests, because we have such great places to go walkies.....

COMING SOON TO WELLYBIX
Dog Soap
This soap is a bit special, we humans can use it, there is nothing in it that will do us any damage, quite the opposite! It would actually be great if you are going anywhere tropical and you want to ward off any unpleasant creatures that may nip or bite! It is made from Olive oil, coconut oil, palm oil, rapeseed oil and castor oil. It is a very bubbly soap which is great for bathing fido! The best bits come in the form of the extras added just for you pooch, these are Vitamin E for a lovely shiny coat, aloe vera gel and jojoba oil to sooth their delicate skin, neem oil which is an excellent moisturizing oil and contains various compounds that have insecticidal and medicinal properties. Then come the essential oils blended to ward of fleas, ticks and bugs in general, these are; eucalyptus, peppermint, citronella, lavender,lemongrass, tea tree and cedarwood.
So it is jam packed with great oils and essential oils and it smells great! Your pampered pooch will love you for it!!
Ingredients: Aqua, Sodium cocoate, Sodium olivate, Sodium palmate, Brassica oleifera, Sodium castorate, Aloe barbadensis (aloe) leaf juice, Bruxus chinensis, Melia azadirachta, Tocopherol, Lavandula augustifolia, Eucalyptus globulus, Mentha piperita, Cymbopogon nardus, Cymbopogon flexuousus, Melaleuca alternifolia, Cedrus atlantica, Limonene, linalool, geraniol, Citral, Eugenol, Citronellol, Farnesol.
Minimum weight 80g
So it is jam packed with great oils and essential oils and it smells great! Your pampered pooch will love you for it!!

Dales Delight
Just delivered today to a new supplier called Dales Delight, based in Middleton in Teesdale, County Durham. They have only been open a few weeks and stock mainly locally produced foods and some crafts too. So, if you are in the area, pop in and check them out....

Sunday 20th July - Taste of Teesdale
'Taste of Teesdale Festival' brings together an abundance of artisan food and drink from across the region. From bangers and bread, to pies and pickles. Meet and buy from local producers as chef's prepare some mouth watering dishes for all the family.
Farming displays and a whole range of special activities to make Taste of Teesdale a great day out.
This one day festival will celebrate everything brilliant about local food, with demonstrations and childrens activities, as well as lots of stalls to stock up on with local produce.
Alison and Jane will be baking all week for this event. Lots of Doggie Treats, Big Bix and Doggie Pupcakes

Bowlees Visitor Centre
This is a beautiful centre, a lovely cafe and shop with lots of local suplliers and a great base to do walking from. Last week Welly and I and his best furpal Woody the Lurcher, walked Low Force to High Force..... we were all pooped!..........
We had a lovely lunch in the cafe, and Welly n Woody had a sneeky sausage roll...

SUMMER JELLY TREATS
Summer Jelly Treats
Ingredients:
- 3 cups of low salt chicken stock
- 1 cup of pomegranate juice
- 1 cup frozen (or fresh) blueberries
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 ice cubes
- 4 packets unflavored gelatin
Instructions:
- Pour the chicken stock and pomegranate juice into a small sauce pan and stir.
- Set the sauce pan on the stove top, on high heat, and cover. Prepare the other ingredients while it heats to a boil.
- In a blender puree the blueberries and water.
- Pour the blueberry mixture into a medium bowl and add two ice cubes. Stir to cool the blueberries.
- Sprinkle in the packets of gelatin and stir. After a couple minutes you will have a thick blueberry mixture or paste.
- Once the stock and juice come to a boil, remove from the heat.
- Using a rubber spatula, scoop out the blueberry mixture and add it to the hot broth and juice.
- Set a timer for 5 minutes and stir until the gelatin is dissolved.
- Carefully pour the hot liquid into a glass bowl. Refrigerate for at least 3 hours.
- Cut into 1 inch squares and serve.
